Benefits at a Glance


Employees at Jacob & Sundstrom enjoy a comprehensive benefits package which is second-to-none. Most benefits begin on the first day of employment, while waiting periods apply to a few items. The following table provides a brief overview of what is available.

Medical
You may elect coverage for yourself and any dependents, choosing from between two different medical plans administered by MAMSI Life and Health Insurance Company

Dental
METLIFE Dental provides coverage for you and/or dependents.

Life Insurance
The Firm provides $100,000 to each employee at no cost. Employees have the option to purchase additional coverage for themselves and their dependents through the Guardian.

Long-Term Disability
If you are medically disabled for more than 90 days, basic LTD benefits continue up to 60% of your monthly income up to age 65, up to a maximum of $6,000 per month.

Flexible Spending Account
FSA allow employees to defer income, thus lowering taxable income. The account may be used to cover expenses not covered in the medical/dental plan. Additionally, pre-tax dollars may be used for dependent care expenses.

Training & Tuition
The company will reimburse employees periodicals, training, technical seminars and degrees as long as they are work related. Participation is based upon company approval.

401k
You may realize significant tax saving while saving for the future by contributing on a before tax basis to the company’s 401k plan.

Profit Sharing Plan
Profit sharing is a tax-free retirement savings benefit which complements the 401K and costs nothing to the employee. Employees are eligible for this benefit after one year of service.

Vacation
Paid vacation is based on length of service, ranging from ten days through the 2nd year of employment and three weeks thereafter. First year’s vacation is pro-rated.

Holidays
Enjoy twelve paid holidays including two floating days to be used at the employee’s discretion upon approval.

Sick Time
The company does provide paid time off for illness.

Other leave
The company will provide additional leave for jury duty, bereavement, personal emergencies, military leave.

Employee Assistance
Employees have access to confidential counseling for personal and family matters through Menninger Care.
